Nine E-Juice Flavors That Sound Just Like Kids’ Favorite Treats

June 11, 2014

“Kids may be particularly vulnerable to trying e-cigarettes due to an abundance of fun flavors such as cherry, vanilla, pina-colada and berry.”

If that quote sounds like something a public health organization said (and many of us have expressed such concerns), think again.  This particular quote is from the so-called “youth smoking prevention” web site of tobacco giant Lorillard, manufacturer of blu eCigs, the best-selling e-cigarette brand.

So what flavors do Lorillard’s blu eCigs come in?

Cherry Crush, Vivid Vanilla and Pina Colada are among the blu e-cigarette flavors

Lorillard claims that it is “actively and effectively ensuring” that its e-cigarettes are not marketed to kids. So why is it using “fun flavors” that Lorillard itself admits could attract kids?

Lorillard is far from alone among e-cigarette makers in using sweet flavors that could appeal to kids.  Many even use the same brand names as kids’ favorite candy, ice cream, cereal or other treats.

Here are some of the most egregious, youth-oriented e-cigarette flavors we’ve found and the treats they imitate:

Banana Split

Cotton Candy

Sweet Tarts

Hawaiian Punch

Rocket Pop

Gummy Bears

Froot Loops
