Be Sweet to your Heart

February 14, 2011

Love Your Heart. Need help to quit? Most people know that smoking causes cancer. But it also causes one in five deaths from heart disease in the United States. The risk of stroke is nearly doubled by smoking. And secondhand smoke increases the risk of heart attacks in non-smokers. Our partners at the American Heart Association have comprehensive information on how smoking harms cardiovascular health

So treat yourself or a loved one to a healthier heart this Valentine's Day by joining the Centers for Disease Control's Love Your Heart campaign to help smokers quit during February — American Heart Month.

It's better for you than chocolates.  And keeping your loved ones smoke-free helps everyone smell the roses.
