Tobacco-Free Kids Condemns Violence Against AAPI Community

March 17, 2021
Statement of Matthew L. Myers, President, Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids is horrified by and strongly condemns the growing incidents of violence and hatred toward members of the Asian American Pacific Islander community. Our hearts go out to the victims of the senseless shootings in Georgia and of other incidents of violence and harassment around the nation. We must stand united against racism, discrimination, misogyny and hate in all forms, including the abhorrent surge in xenophobia and bigotry toward the AAPI community during the COVID-19 pandemic. We stand with the AAPI community and all working to Stop AAPI Hate.
