Robert Gary Klein (1939-2022)
The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids is deeply saddened by the death of Robert Gary Klein, 83, of Silver Spring, Maryland, and we are grateful for all donations in his memory. Having grown up with asthma, Gary Klein was a passionate advocate for smoke-free environments and everyone’s right to breathe clean air. He knew from experience the dangers of being exposed to secondhand smoke, whether in a restaurant or on an airplane, and he was a strong supporter of Montgomery County’s pioneering smoke-free law passed in 1999.
His passion for fighting tobacco use is shared by his daughter Lori and his son-in-law John Schachter, Senior Director for Advocacy Communications at the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids. We send our condolences to Mr. Klein’s family and friends.
