Global Grant Management Rooted in Local Leadership
Our global grant management system is powered by specialists in programs, finance and administration with lived experience, legal expertise and language proficiency in low- and middle-income countries.
We pair technical assistance with rigorous financial and programmatic oversight to maximize strategic investments, amplify impact, ensure compliance with cross-border funding regulations and meet all donor requirements.
Our grant management is built on participatory decision-making that prioritizes the agency, direction and leadership of local advocates. We invest in communication, trust and a shared vision for lasting health policy outcomes.
Our approach is guided by our theory of change: effective, sustainable health policy is driven by strategic advocacy led by civil society at the national and local level.
Proven Experience Safeguarding Donor Funds
The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids has provided over $170 million in grants in over 60 countries, partnering with hundreds of health advocacy CSOs operating in diverse legal and regulatory environments.
Our highly developed global financial and compliance system is fortified by deep experience vetting, issuing, tracking, and monitoring all donor funds — even in the most challenging regulatory environments.
Navigating Complexity, Ensuring Compliance
We tailor our policies to the country context. For example, countries like Bangladesh and India have complex and rapidly evolving NGO regulatory regimes governing foreign funding.
We adapt our financial compliance policies and procedures to include updated, country-specific financial, administrative and legal protocols that meet both U.S. and national requirements while upholding our fiduciary responsibility to donors.
Beyond compliance, we build capacity. We review financial and administrative policies with prospective and active CSO grantees, provide targeted training, conduct site visits to review compliance and offer hands-on support to strengthen financial management. This ensures all resources are applied in a manner that is consistent, effective, inclusive, and compliant.
