Everyone has the right to breathe smokefree indoor air

  • On June 18th, 2013 the Casper City Council weakened the smokefree ordinance by exempting health care facilities, bars, lounges, taverns, work areas not open to the public, and club facilities when holding private events.

We are currently gathering signatures of registered voters to put the vote to Casper citizens. We need to gather 2,465 signatures by July 17. Signatures may not be submitted online, so please stop in at any of these locations to sign in support:

Rocky Mountain Oncology -- 6501 East 2nd Street
    Jason's Friends -- 340 West B Street
Rocky Mountain Academy of Hair, Skin & Nails -- 315 East 5th Street

Smokefree laws are good for both health and business.

Secondhand smoke is a public health hazard. Nonsmokers exposed to secondhand smoke in public places or at work significantly increase their risk of developing heart disease, lung cancer, and respiratory illnesses.

The best way to protect workers and citizens in Natrona County from the serious health hazards caused by secondhand smoke is to pass a strong smokefree ordinance. Smokefree Natrona is a group of citizens committed to making the community a healthier place to live.
