Program Associate, Strategic Partnerships Grants

The Program Associate provides vital program support for the Strategic Partnerships programs at the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (CTFK). This position supports and focuses on the growth, cultivation and sustained relationships with partner groups through grants funding, especially those that represent communities impacted by health disparities and inequities.  This a full time position, based in Washington, DC and reports to the Director of Advocacy and Outreach. This position is open to candidates who can permanently work in the United States.  The DC office will reopen in September 2021for DC-based work.  

Primary Duties

  • Assist with building and maintaining partner relationships through granting organizations funds to work on tobacco control advocacy. The Program Associate will be responsible for the implementation of deliverables with CTFK grantees;
  • Maintain a data base of partner grants including contacts, programs, deliverables and partner reports;
  • Assist with creating, and executing meetings, presentations, events, workshops, training sessions, materials etc. in support of CTFK grantees; 
  • Support the planning and execution of Tobacco-Free Kids collaborative efforts and events with grant partners; 
  • Support development and promotion of materials for CTFK grantees communication efforts such as blogs, webinars, emails, website and social media materials;
  • Provide support and outreach as needed to CTFK grantees;
  • Provide and track technical assistance to CTFK grantees;
  • Assist in identifying new grantees, conferences, events, etc. that CTFK could partner with and/or participate in to help advance our tobacco control priorities
  • Compile grantee reports for analysis, evaluation and provide reporting to Director of Advocacy and Outreach; 
  • Work collaboratively with other departments on highlighting grantee activities 
  • Other duties as assigned related to CTFK partner grantee work

Requirements

  • 2 years of combined professional, or volunteer experience in any of the areas of advocacy, training, health care, education or community service.
  • Excellent communications skills - writing, general and group engagement, and social interaction (some public speaking may be required). 
  • An interest to serve communities impacted by health disparities and underserved communities.
  • Ability to operate independently within a team environment and with only general supervision.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects with varied deadlines.
  • Sound organizational skills and detail-orientation.
  • Ability to remain flexible and modify priorities as needed.
  • Significant experience with Microsoft Office, and social networking tools.
  • Commitment to the issue of tobacco control.
  • Excellent creative thinking skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, political science, or related field.
