18th Annual Youth Advocates of the Year Awards Gala

Our 18th Annual Youth Advocates of the Year Awards Gala is set for May 15, 2014 in Washington, D.C. at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. We are so excited for this upcoming celebration!

Together with over 450 business, philanthropic and government leaders, we will honor the accomplishments of outstanding young people and tobacco control advocates from across the United States and around the world. We look forward to another night filled with poignant moments and a few surprises as we highlight our progress and ignite new energy into creating a future free of the death and disease caused by tobacco use, the number one cause of preventable death.

Champion Award

This year, we present the Champion Award to Larry J. Merlo, President and Chief Executive Officer of CVS Caremark Corporation for setting a powerful example for all retailers, especially those involved in health care, by announcing that it will end the sale of tobacco products at its more than 7,600 stores throughout the United States.

The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids applauds CVS for this courageous and historic decision. We cannot wait to celebrate with all of our honorees, guests, partners and vendors who always make our gala event a memorable success and we hope you will join us!
